Come fill your cup, nourish your heart, enlighten your soul and relax your mind at Galilee Center September 27-28, 2024.

Join the author of Cup of Light! Inspiration and Reflection Along the Spiritual Path, Karen Lahaise for an illuminating 24 hour retreat. Together we will follow the course of sunlight as we reflect on Divine Presence  throughout the phases of our own lives.

Note: You can purchase a copy of Karen’s book at the retreat ($20),  or in advance at Galilee Centre, Indigo Pinecrest (Ottawa) or Perfect Books (Elgin St.), or Amazon.ca

Cup of Light! invites you to journey with the author from darkness to light, along each phase of the spiritual path. Aligning with how we experience sunlight every 24 hours, we are immersed in a mystical, creative process towards enlightenment. By using the image of a simple cup, we too move through seven phases from darkness towards Infinite Light, in a shimmering process that is both personal and universal, poignant and powerful.

It is an inspirational companion, wherever and however you seek enlightenment. By offering short reflections, personal stories and thoughtful questions, this Cup of Light! will nourish individuals or groups, sipping just what you need, whenever you need more light!

Note: You can purchase a copy of Karen’s book at the retreat ($20),  or in advance at Galilee Centre, Indigo Pinecrest (Ottawa) or Perfect Books (Elgin St.), or Amazon.ca

Karen Lahaise was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, where she currently resides. As a spiritual seeker and creative writer, she has always had a passion for reading, singing, personal development and enriching her faith experience. After attending Immaculata High School, she graduated from Carleton University in Ottawa, studying Journalism and majoring in English Literature.

Her professional career spanned 40 years in both the private and public sectors as an editor, marketing analyst and team leader, providing strategic communications for leadership and staff. She was certified in facilitation, change management and business process transformation, before retiring from the Canadian Federal Government.

In 2017, Karen completed a two-year spiritual director program with the Upper Room Home of Prayer in Ottawa. She is an active member of this contemplative community, contributing to the writing of spiritual booklets, attending retreats and facilitating workshops.

Music is a life-long passion and Karen has sung in many choirs and performed in spiritual musicals. As a professional musician, she performed in jazz quartets, concerts, weddings, and at CD releases, including two of her own: Songs for the Soul, 2003 and Shelter of My Heart, 2005. Her collections of inspirational music have been used extensively by spiritual seekers, teachers, hospices, and Retreat Centers in several countries and continents. Although she has published several poems, Cup of Light! is her first book.

When she is not singing, writing or reading, Karen enjoys being outside, walking, gardening and cycling.
