April 9, 2025 – Day Twenty-Eight
What unites my Christian life to your Christian life, from one moment to another, in the darkest moments of life, is hope.
~ Pope Francis
Ponder:
How often do I remember what I am connected with all Catholics everywhere?
Pray:
God of hope, help me to remember that hope is never wasted but is an essential part of your goodness!
Reflection from Guy and Marian Brethour:
The reflection today reminds us of the message, as church, and also participants with the beloved community of Galilee, HOPE THRIVES IN COMMUNITY. All of us are connected and are prophets of Hope. Historically, the Jubilee Year was a time when slaves were released, and no doubt, that meant a new life of freedom, granting equity to all.
Pope Francis shares we, as a church, (and the contemplative community of Galilee), are bound together with shared hope for the vision for our world, in the goodness of God’s message – that includes the hope of justice and peace overcoming violence and war, the hope of mercy and dignity and safe living as a realizable human right for all people.
Today’s reflection is titled SILENT, HUMBLE & STRONG. Hope offers us, in community, an opportunity to say ‘Yes’ to embrace the difficult task of remaining strong – a collective effort moving forward together as a beloved community promoting the well-being of Others, even in the darkest moments.
Pope Francis shares that “hope is a humble virtue and needs attention to maintain”. We, as community, in the prayerful silence of soulful peace of the present moment, place our hearts and minds in hope.
