March 26, 2025 – Day Eighteen
I cannot give you hope, but I can tell you that hope is where Jesus is.
~ Pope Francis
Ponder:
Where will I see evidence of God’s goodness today?
Pray:
God of hope, open my eyes that I may see you!
Poem from Karen Ann McKinna (2016):
“HOPE“
(dedicated to the Neighbourlink Fountain in Arnprior, an open-hearted drop in centre where all are welcome.)
I came. I saw the breadth of your loving kindness hit the deep dark droughts
Filled with despair. The face of Christ in every friend and stranger’s countenance
Unveiling true humanness, nobility, divinity and vulnerability despite this bout
Of current desperate need, of heart wrenching emptiness and circumstance.
I came. I saw the levity of Spirit’s love and laughter weaving spirals round us there
With warming glances, kindly touches, tea, coffee, and cheering words of comfort.
Every working wound reveals both brokenness and healing – all are one in prayer:
So come! There’s work to do! Lunch to prepare! Visitors to greet! Donations to sort!
Rousing courage in one another, holding hands towards each task, we’re guided by humility
Let us continue on together in this ever deepening journey, ever trusting the God of Mercy.
